James Faucette, an analyst at Pacific Crest Securities, has estimated 500,000 units of Nokia Lumia 800 to be sold by the end of this year. He earlier after the launch of Lumia 800 by Nokia (a smartphone based on windows Phone operating system ), estimated that it would sell over 2 million units by the end of this year.
Although Nokia has has said earlier that the Lumia 800 has been very popular and well received with consumers. It is receiving tough competition from iPhone 4S and Android. iPhone has received 1M pre-orders in a single day on its launch and is on high heat. While Android recently has set to become most popular operating system in recent months.
Nokia Lumia 800 has been launched in those carriers where it holds fast with its featured phone but its supposed poor sales performance is disappointing in light of that as well.
There are some survey from connected-intelligence being done which results that 44% of people who have other smart phone are interested in buying Windows Phone. Which can be an plus point for both Nokia and Microsoft.
Now there are some interesting questions to be considered such as Is it too early to judge Nokia’s performance ? as its out with only one device at this time and competing with well settled competitor i.e. Android and iPhone.
